MISSION DRIVEN HEARTS

A sentiment that describes poignantly and profoundly the Community Health Centers (CHC) of our Central Coast. As I walked through the doors of the health center located at 2120 Cienega St., Oceano, Ca., I was greeted with warm genuine smiles and a sense of authentic compassion that emanated from each staff member. Instantly I could see that those who serve at CHC are truly DRIVEN by their HEARTS. As I spoke with the talent acquisitionists Taylor Powell and Madisyn Masatani, I quickly learned that the MISSION at CHC is to give each patient the peace of mind that they will be well cared for. From the economically challenged to the medically underserved, CHC strives to serve them all with a spirit of excellence. The Community Health Centers set the bar high by upholding the responsibility entrusted to them. Evidence of their commitment to excellence was displayed through the 5-star rating their Oceano location received from the Cen Cal Quality Care Incentive Program. Now that is impressive! And it is clear by these types of achievements that the hard work and dedication of men and women like CEO and founder Ron Castle, Deputy CEO Sophia Sosa and their faithful staff are making a significant impact in the healthcare industry on the Central Coast. They are shining star examples that we are extremely grateful for. From the beginning the leadership has honored its foundational MISSION, serving those in our community who are at risk of being underserved. Each patient is SEEN as a person with intrinsic value… mind, body, and heart. CHC understands that finding the appropriate healthcare services can be overwhelming and confusing and empathy is paramount when serving our community. It is the reason they seek to hire candidates who have a HEART to provide the highest level of care. Once employed with CHC the staff member becomes an extension of the MISSION DRIVEN HEARTBEAT that began years ago. Each employee is mentored, trained, and given the skills necessary to interact professionally and compassionately with each person that walks through the door. So, whether you are a patient or an employee, you will be given their absolute best! What began as a vision and dream in 1978 by 7 committed employees and a part time doctor in Nipomo, Ca., has 45 years later turned into 850 employees serving 27 Community Health Centers, which are strategically placed from North SLO County to North Santa Barbara County. The impact of this beautiful vision is an inspiration to our community and reminds us that when a MISSION is DRIVEN by caring HEARTS …BIG dreams can come true!

Thank you, Community Health Center, for CHANGING lives each day by NEVER CHANGING your HEART DRIVEN MISSION!
