SIGNED, SEALED and DELIVERED!

This familiar mantra is the cornerstone statement of any reputable Notary Public throughout history!  This week I am pleased to highlight a woman in our community that radiates not only a kind spirit but more importantly has a solid reputation that she built on her integrity. Sue MacCagno Palmer, or better known in our business community as Sue the Signer, is not only one of our beloved South County Chamber of Commerce members, but she also served as Vice Chair and Chair on our Ambassador Committee in 2017-2018 and was Ambassador of the year in 2017.

When I interviewed Sue to learn more her role as one of our Public Notary’s in the Central Coast, she quickly shared that becoming a Notary had been like a hand in glove experience. For over 40 years Sue served as a Mortgage Lender in Ohio, where she was born and raised, in parts of Northern California, as well as here on the Central Coast. Her previous career path certainly gave Sue the insight she needed to pursue a career as a Notary Public. Her extensive knowledge of the documents needing to be signed and notarized regarding buying and selling your home, has made her the esteemed local Notary that we truly appreciate today! As we spoke further, I could see in her eyes that it has been the meaningful relationships built along the way, that has been the icing on the cake! 😊 In her own words Sue said this, “Being able to help people legally solidify life changing decisions, and giving them peace of mind, simply fills me with joy!”

For Sue, her occupation is an honor and privilege and a wonderful way to serve her community. She made it clear to me that there are No documents too big or too small that she won’t notarize. From family care matters such as trusts, health care directives etc. to business agreements and contracts that involve fiduciary consequences, she is grateful and ready to assist her client’s needs. Once the documents are SIGNED, SEALED and DELIVERED they can then withstand the test of time! I truly believe that without the asset of Notary Public Services in our world today, many people would lose not only sleep, but even more critical, personal relationships involving fiduciary commitments, could become more complicated and fragile. The reality is, we live in a world that is getting more and more litigious moment by moment. At the end of the day, society and interpersonal relationships are much stronger and flourish more when we can come to a mutually binding agreement.

Fun facts about WHY Notary’s are so incredibly invaluable, and WHY they always will be! 😊

Dating back as far as 2075BC in Ancient Egypt, society has needed documents authenticated by a TRUSTED witness. WHY? Unfortunately, humans throughout time are prone to lose sight of historical facts through fading memories or worse yet, they can lose sight of their fiduciary commitments due to a lack of integrity. Either way, the role of notary was created centuries ago to protect our social structure from simply collapsing and people from damaging interpersonal relationships due to a lack of accountability. The only difference between then and now is their title. In ancient days Notaries were known as Scribes. They were highly revered in their community for their noble traits of honesty, credibility, truthfulness and the ability to uphold the laws without bias. What a blessing to have a reputable and reliable notary like Sue MacCagno Palmer in our midst. Whatever your notary needs, you can be sure that with Sue the Signer your document will be SIGNED, SEALED and ready to be DELIVERED!

Thank you Sue for being an integral member of our South County Chambers of Commerce and a vital contributor to the business world on our thriving Central Coast!
